SHAJITH R B

Born at Malappattam in Kannur district of Kerala State in 1981. Childhood years and school education were completed in the native village. Thereafter underwent a course in mural painting from Kerala Sanskrit University and took Degree in painting from Fine Arts College,Thiruvananthapuram. During the days of his studentship he was influenced by Indian miniatures and the paintings of Paul Gauguin, David Hockney et al. On the third year of Bachelor of Fine Arts course, he contributed in two series; School Time and Rain, in water colour. During the final year of his study he painter in the series; Good Morning, Last Emotions and After Rain. After the Harmony Show in Mumbai, he participated in exhibitions like Big Zero, Reviews etc. The last one was Art Chennai Exhibition, 2012. About the paintings Settings ofn nature in village, myths, life, Solitude and fear dominate his later paintings. The girl who appears time and again is a symbol of victimhood, posited in distress and trepidation. After Rain Thirty odd pictures attempted recently come under this series. It proclaims the hollowness after a torrented rain. Dut the slowly germinating seeds arouse hopes. The juxtaposition of human/animal figurines with nature is meant to stress that nature is the phenomenon that dominate around us.
