Write up of my works
Conveying a message has never been an agenda or part of my art practice, which develops and evolves at the micro level. Of course, there are great artists who have a narrative and at times even a story telling element in their paintings, but I don’t have that kind of a story telling quality or approach in my paintings, I confess. At the same time, my paintings, especially the ones I did in the recent times, carry within a mood of sensuousness. Still, that feeling is often mingled with the social criticism inherent in me as I look the society through the telescope of my philosophy and, of course, with an eye for critical vision. However, even if you make a deliberate attempt to conceal it, your inner self will come to the fore through your work of art, which would reflect the real you. Hence, I don’t believe in chipping in a social message, as I believe it would not be sincere or true. The sprouting of visualization and an atomic element that leads it often fascinates me. This is an inner journey, and the so-called messages crop up into it only on the fringes, of which I am quite apprehensive. There is no logical equation in the creation of a work of art, and in my opinion art takes birth when you break the logical prejudices.
